I added the Category:Strategy computer games tag since I wasn't sure from the article if all the games mentioned were real-time. Is this the case? Lupin 13:30, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)

yes, all the games are real time BUT FH's Dune (the last) isn't a strategy game. WolfenSilva

I deleted the part about the ordos occuring in the books, I can't remember any of that, and have read other sources which also say the ordos are invented by westwood. If someone knows where they occur in the books I am eager to know. --Omegium 20:26, 18 Jul 2004 (UTC)

House Ordos only appeard in The Dune Encyclopedia (by Dr. Willis E. McNelly, 1984). It is to be noted that this encyclopedia was fully endorsed by Frank Herbert. A Westwood developer, Marc Cram, took the name from there. Ref: [1]. However, the Dune Encylopedia has been decanonized by Brian Herbert's Dune prequels. And no, Ordos never did appear in the novels themselves. Anárion 22:56, 18 Jul 2004 (UTC)
I remember a reference on Dune about the Ordos, perhaps in the Atreides' reception. ŵŞ 21:00, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Weasel words

[edit]

The reason I marked this article NPOV is that there are many weasel words: "It is considered by many", "The game was criticised...", "it added enough features...avoid seeming too unoriginal". gracefool 01:56, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)

If you don't like the words, just remove the sentences. They don't add much and are there mostly because there is not enough factual info on later games yet. Paranoid 08:15, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)
'scuse me? As far as it seems, most of the info here goes with most reviews (professional and amateur) and comments on the said games. WolfenSilva 09:37, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Page move change

[edit]

Anyone opposes moving the page to Dune computer and video games ? Since the article grew from one game to several, I think the move is advisable. wS 20:15, 15 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'd rather suggest splitting it into several articles.--Eloquence* 04:27, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

Dune board game

[edit]

Check it out: http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=4802 Jacoplane 14:39, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to have been written up here, but it might still be worth a mention at this page if a computer version exists. --DocumentN (talk) 04:53, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dune Online Games

[edit]

For about 15 years there has been a DuneMud (see: http://dune.servint.com) that is set in the Dune universe. Also there is a mush (http://www.dune3.net/) that uses the Dune theme (but more of a RPG, role-playing game).

Dune generations

[edit]

Dune Generations, what happened to this awesome game?

I remember hearing about this back a few years and it felt as if it was the perfect solution to a confused, or for a better word, incomplete game universe of Dune.

I don't see how anyone / any publisher couldn't see the potential of this game, especially back then!

Does anyone know what happened to the source rights, would anyone be interested in trying to revive it - if at all possible?

Let me know. Matt —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mattayers1 (talkcontribs) 13:05, August 20, 2007 (UTC).

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:55, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Dune Online

[edit]

I removed the section about Dune Online, from Reenactor Entertainment, as it was merely a fan-made rp forum. LarryLaffer (talk) 09:42, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
