Matt Barlow sings on which songs?

[edit]

From what I understand from reading this article, Barlow does backing vocals on a few songs. Does anyone know which ones? Because I, for the life of me, can't hear a thing. 216.209.117.83 (talk) 21:14, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know in the breakdown part in Attila he sings the Roman part, and also any multi layered sections he's still in —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.223.67 (talk) 11:03, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I could have sworn that was him singing on "High Water Mark" for the Longstreet part. Am I right?

Gettysburg - The Movie

[edit]

I have watched the movie called Gettysburg after hearing CD2 of The Glorious Burden and I have noticed some similarities betwwen some passages in the soundtrack and the melodies used by Schaffer.

One of the most remarkable similarities I have recognized was in the scene with picket's charge when the confederates reach emmitsburg road. its the same scene in the third song...

so is this some famous melodie or did schaffer use this melodie from the movie intentionally?

I'm not very keen in history and historical music but this is a fact i would really want to know. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arkanoid87 (talkcontribs) 13:25, 22 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fan reaction

[edit]

I cleaned up the article a bit. Added different versions in the track list. Added some sources and a quote. I didn't know what to do about this paragraph. I initially rewrote it, but decided against adding it.

"The Glorious Burden was met with mixed reactions from fans. Some fans had a difficult time adjusting to Owens' vocals, due to Matt Barlow's impact on the sound of the band. Others have criticized Schaffer for what they see as the introduction of politics, specifically America-centric politics, to Iced Earth music."

I don't know how to research that. I didn't think an amazon review or something like that would suffice. I think they are all valid criticisms, so they might be added in a better way. Palomo1 05:20, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics/Music Credits for "Attila" and "Waterloo"

[edit]

Does anyone know who wrote the lyrics and who wrote the music for "Attila" and "Waterloo"? I couldn't find anywhere where it would get that specific with the credits, they all just credited it to "Schaffer/Barlow", so I just assumed that meant that both the music and the lyrics were written by the two of them, but I don't feel sure enough.

song meanings

[edit]

I added links to the historical significance of each song. There were 2 I don't know, Hollow Man and Greenface. UselessToRemain (talk) 16:48, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
