IMDb

Please do not leave deceptive comments on talk pages or in edit summaries (the "misspelling" I supposedly reintroduced to Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys).
Also, adding ratings for every listing on List of programs broadcast by Anime Network seems unnecessary. Listing ratings in a program's article should be sufficient. tregoweth 18:38, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
Edit summaries
[edit]When editing an article, there is a small field labeled "Summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
It is highly recommended that you fill in the edit summary field, as it makes it easier for you and your fellow contributors to understand what has changed, and is helpful when going through the history of the page. If you have questions, I recommend reading Help:Edit summary as it explains it really well. Please let me know if you have any questions. (^_^) ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 03:37, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Template:Infobox movie certificates up for deletion (again)
[edit]It appears the template is up for deletion again, and this time I'm on the side of the keeps. You can find the discussion at Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2006 August 2#Template:Infobox movie certificates. This time it seems more about WP:FILM attacking the concept of including any ratings data rather than being about the template itself. -- Ned Scott 02:44, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

About Volume 1 on Disney Sing-Along-Songs
[edit]I found out that the 1987 copyright date on Volume 1 of Disney's Sing-Along-Songs is a typo because my 1985 copy of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea says "Copyright MCMLV," but 20,000 Leagues came out in MCMLIV (1954). In case you were wondering. Imax80 15:58, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]How the hell did you find their birthday information, that's pretty damn good!--Jack Cox 18:19, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- I must've used a pretty good site to find their birthday information, because until now no one had known where to find that site! --Ryanasaurus0077 19:05, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Where was it do you happen to have that site?--Jack Cox 20:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Try searching for the birthday information for Milton James using this link. [1] --Ryanasaurus0077 21:55, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- I love this tool, unfortunately I just refuse to pay money to find out birthdates however, it really helped find out lots of crap about people. If you wouldn't mind doing me a favor and going through some of this stuff an finding out where it would be useful. My feeling is the one on Kim Strauss is Incorrect. I just cant imagine that being a femine one. Go throught this link here [2] for all voice actors--Jack Cox 06:37, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I usually find birthdates the hard way, or, in my words, looking for the year, then month, then day, being careful not to skip a beat. --Ryanasaurus0077 13:13, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
About the Classics US-Spanish releases
[edit]They are dated after the closure of the Classics line in 1994. How do you that these are the actual dates? Imax80 20:13, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- They're actual release dates, I checked amazon.com, and would they lie about release dates? --Ryanasaurus0077 14:41, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe, they claim the 1994 Masterpiece Edition of Dumbo is 1998. --Imax80 00:04, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Probably they'd lie about Masterpiece Editions, but never about Spanish Masterpieces or Spanish Classics. --Ryanasaurus0077 19:08, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- I heard you mention a store called McKay's earlier somewhere, what is McKay's? My main video sources besides eBay is a rental store called Tommy K's Video, an exclusive rental store only in the state I reside in. Imax80 01:51, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- It's the local used books and videos (and CDs) store on Papermill Drive that I go to for my used videocassettes. --Ryanasaurus0077 13:52, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- So how big is your WDHV collection now? --Imax80 20:32, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Pretty small, but I'm looking for the other Spanish Classics (including Aladdin) and Spanish Masterpieces (including Blancanieves) after getting La Bella y la Bestia (Classics) and Los Tres Caballeros (Masterpiece). --Ryanasaurus0077 09:45, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- I have improved mine (1980s-mid 1994), it's still little though, but...
- Dumbo (1982, 1985, and 1991) ('82 printed 11/22/83) ('85 printed July 16, 1988)
- Alice in Wonderland (1982, 1986) ('82 printed 10/18/82) ('86 printed July 14, 1988)
- Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier (1984-85)
- Robin Hood (1984 and 1991) ('91 printed June 6, 1991)
- Pinocchio (1985 and 1993) ('85 printed: 8/6/86) ('93 printed January 19, 1993)
- 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1985)
- The Sword in the Stone (1986) (printed October 4, 1986)

- to be continued with previews
Titles I am getting in the mail-
- Pinocchio (1986 tape re-master with white clamshell)
Since my birthday is approaching soon (Oct. 20), I'll use my birthday money to bid on videos from eBay, and I'll go around tag sales and used tape stores or rental stores and about 8-10 titles will be added to the list. --Imax80 22:12, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Will you be getting Spanish Disney videocassettes? Please get the Spanish Aladdin as one of your 8-10 new titles. And please add print dates to your existing collection (and the previews on the tapes). --Ryanasaurus007 00:13, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately those three tapes are the only ones with print date stickers. And I am not sure if I want a Spanish release because I don't speak Espanol. --Imax80 00:52, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- The tapes from 1986, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994 have the print date in ink. Look for a 6-number combination ending with 86, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, or 95. Besides, you have the English versions too, so once you watch the English and Espanol versions you'll get used to the Spanish dialogue, I think. --Ryanasaurus007 01:44, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- I takes me forever to get used to a different language version of a film, I mean, I try to watch an undubbed anime show with subtitles, I stop watching it.
- You'll understand Spanish better if you have a Spanish-English dictionary (I have 2 such dictionaries). --Ryanasaurus0077 23:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't have one. I don't take foreign languages in school. --Imax80 02:17, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- But I wish you could purchase a Spanish-English dictionary for those movies. --Ryanasaurus0077 10:51, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
I'll try to get the print dates for you by Monday, since it's Yom Kippur that day and there is no school. What else do you plan to get for your collection in the future? --Imax80
- Aladdin (Spanish), Blancanieves y los Siete Enanos, The Black Hole (1980 fullscreen version; I have the widescreen version from Anchor Bay right now), The Love Bug (1980 version), Pinocchio (1985 black clamshell version), The Absent Minded Professor (1981 black-and-white version; I have the 1986 color version right now), The Devil and Max Devlin (1981 version with previews for Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh), Pinochhio (Spanish), and Pete's Dragon (1985 128-minute version; I have the 1980 108-minute version right now). --Ryanasaurus0077 23:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Holy schnap, you have the 1980 Pete's Dragon release, it's from March 1980, one Disney's first (since the stock number is 10).

1984 Classics logo
[edit]Hey, guess what. I finally got my 1986 Pinocchio tape in the white clamshell and guess what happened. When the Classics logo finished, it stayed there silent for 10 seconds before fading to black! --Imax80 18:59, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- WOW! That's the same thing that happened on the 1984 Classics logo on my 1986 Alice in Wonderland! --Ryanasaurus0077 14:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Funny, my 1986 Alice print (printed in 1988) has it snippeted when it begins and ends. --Imax80 21:39, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's also snippeted on my 1986 Sword in the Stone print. Also, it stays there silent for 10 seconds on Dumbo (I don't have the Dumbo print with that variation). --Ryanasaurus007 00:43, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Skymac/Mr. wheeler/Mr. walker
[edit]I have had with him. Look what he did to Walt Disney Classics anonymously. Although I edited the US section, just look at the archives and see what he did. He is really ticking me off now. What do you think? Maybe his next name will be Mr. Whacker. --Imax80 21:40, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe it might be Mr. Sailor. My twin brother mentioned that possible name on Tregoweth's talk page. --Ryanasaurus007 00:40, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Just because a user is annoying you doesn't mean you can leave rude messages; one should still observe proper etiquette. —tregoweth (talk) 21:29, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- The quotation marks around "f*** off!" in my response was a direct quotation of his message that irked me. I simply took a recording of that phrase from his post and used it in my message. Sorry, tregoweth. I just wanted to warn him that if he trolls again, he will be blocked longer. --Ryanasaurus0077 13:55, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- You stupid people, I was telling the truth! There really was a vertical white label blank tape edition of Disney Sing Along Songs: vol.10: Be Our Guest I saw on ebay in September 2004! It was a promotion for the new Beauty & the Beast movie (there's probally a trailer on that tape) & they were still using white labels in 1991! So, leave me alone! Is that too hard to ask! Skymac207 11:29, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Talk:Walt Disney Classics/Archive1
[edit]I'm not questioning whether you own those titles; I reverted your edits because talk pages shouldn't be edited after being archived. —tregoweth (talk) 21:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- I was just trying to make some honest revisions! --Ryanasaurus007 00:39, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's understood that archived pages are dated and not up-to-date. It's okay if they've become incorrect. Also, shouldn't your "twin brother" have a different name, and not just an added number? :) —tregoweth (talk) 22:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- We have to share similar names because we're twins! --Ryanasaurus0077 12:37, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
WDHV 1980-1982 release dates
[edit]Can I ask where you got those 1980 to 1982 Walt Disney release dates? They are not found very many places. For The Journey of Natty Gann, I have a note I made a long time ago that it was initially available in June 1986 and not the October date you indicated, although the price was probably reduced in October. Canadiana 03:11, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- The Journey of Natty Gann used the dark red FBI warnings, the video dealer announcement, and the Sorcerer Mickey logo, while the Absent Minded Professor, released on videocassette one week before Sleeping Beauty, uses the red-orange FBI warnings and the Neon Mickey logo. If what you say is true, then pre-July 30 printings must've used the Neon Mickey logo. --Ryanasaurus0077 13:52, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's very possible that the master tape was changed when the price dropped, so the initial release may have had different fromt matter on the tape. I still want to know the source of the 1980 to 1982 dates. Canadiana 23:06, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe the release dates were reasons to attract more customers. --Ryanasaurus0077 14:53, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe you don't understand. We need to be able to say where we got the dates from, so that people don't think that you just made them up. You said somewhere else "It's official". Official according to what or who? We need something to back up our claims in case of future disputes. Canadiana 17:50, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Something Strange on my 1985 Dumbo Video
[edit]Hey, guess what? I just got my 1985 copy of Dumbo today in its original black clamshell, and I watched the tape expecting the 1984 Classics logo, but guess what? It was 1983 Neon Mickey! Isn't that strange?! --Imax80 23:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Any sign of the Classics logo? If not, we can post a message on the Walt Disney Classics page. --Ryanasaurus0077 13:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Not on the video itself. At the end of the video, oh my god was I surprised, that 1982 "Walt Disney and You" promo at the end of the video! --Imax80 19:19, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- GOOD GOD! How weird is THAT!? You see, I'll be expecting that on my black clamshell Dumbo VHS cassette now that you told me! --Ryanasaurus0077 13:18, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe mine uses the 1981-82 tape master after the FBI screens and logos. When you get it, please tell me what's on it. --Imax80 19:41, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- It's interesting, but I can't say it's a big surprise to me. Disney has claimed that the December 1985 re-pricing of Pinocchio was planned all along, but another source says that the full-price sales of Pinocchio were disappointing, so it seems that Dumbo and Robin Hood were added fairly late in the process of preparing that promotion, which was announced that September. They designed a new package design, but I don't think it was important to change the content of the video. After all, it was still the same Dumbo movie that they had sold before.
- The fact that the content of the video stayed the same lends more support to the idea that this whole strategy wasn't decided all that far ahead of when they announced it. They actually announced the special sale price about 6 weeks after Pinocchio was released, resulting in a lot of angry customers, but there obviously wasn't very much time available for advance planning. Canadiana 20:54, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Here's another weird thing: my 1985 copy of The Love Bug uses not only the 1980 tape master after the FBI screens and logos, but it uses the 1980 COVER ART! --Ryanasaurus0077 21:10, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Uh...
[edit]Why did you tell me to go to hell? --Imax80 19:46, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Or am I seeing things? Maybe it was an anonymous user who got your password and signed on as your username. The edit summary to Walt Disney Classics said something like this (Go to hell Mr. Live-Action Classic Man). What was that all about? --Imax80 21:31, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- 101 Dalmatians is linked to the live-action movie with Glenn Close. The animated movie is listed under One Hundred and One Dalmatians, so that explains the comment (actually he was just correcting a bad link). Canadiana 00:16, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about that Ryan, I owe you one. --Imax80 01:18, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, Imaxination. I was going to apologize too for the unfortunate mix-up. Let's make sure that the link stays like this. Shall we? --Ryanasaurus0077 13:40, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Maybe...
[edit]My copy of Dumbo in 1985 maybe one of the only ones to use the 1983 Neon Mickey, and the 1981 tape master and WD and You promo (the print date is August 1985). And also remember that your US-Spanish releases use the 1986 WDHV logo. But they are still part of the Classics lineup. --Imax80 23:38, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Collection Expanded
[edit]Check it out on my user page. --Imax80 18:16, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
So let me get this straight
[edit]The original printing of Disney Sing Along Songs: Heigh-Ho in 1987 doesn't use any FBI screens and just the WDHV 1986 logo? Is that correct? --Imax80 03:55, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. I think you should purchase the 1987 edition just in case the one I saw might be among the only ones with that format. --Ryanasaurus0077 21:32, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Hey Ryanasaurus0077, Guess what I got!
[edit]Pete's Dragon. The exact March 1980 original on Beta! It has to be that version because the seller on eBay said it was 105 minutes. --Imax80 20:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- HOLY SCHNAP! That's AWESOME! Well, a while ago, I asked our good friend Canadiana to tell me about any rentals from pre-1984 on eBay. --172.152.60.214 20:54, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Canadiana didn;'reply to it yet. You also forgot to sign in. Check out my expanded collection, there are a few more I added. --Imax80 20:58, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- You asked me about "pre-1984 Disney videocassettes that were former rentals". I didn't really understand because at any given time there are probably dozens of pre-1984 videos on eBay that have previously been rented out. Now I think you meant the "rental-only" kind. Those are very rare but sellers probably don't know to mention this. Anyway, I'm not a very good source for this information, because I'm ont on eBay very much. Canadiana 22:23, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Couldn't you search all over eBay monthly on the 4th of the month? --Ryanasaurus0077 17:45, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose I could, but I'm not sure what I would search for. I suspect that once a month is not quite often enough. (P.S. Don't tease Skymac or you'll make him more annoying, and Skymac (I know you're reading this): If you don't want to be treated like a kid, don't act like one.) Canadiana 22:16, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
What Disney videos are on your list?
[edit]For me-
- All the Fotomat titles.
- The Sword in the Stone (both 1986 and 1989 with the 1991 tape master)
- The rental versions of Dumbo and Alice in Wonderland
- Basically everything else from 1980-1987 that I don't have

Disney Sing Along Songs edits
[edit]Hello ! You've got a great collection and lots of great detail.
I've moved the Spanish edition information from the Disney Sing Along Songs over to the Spanish language Wikipedia under Disney Canta Con Nosotros. Any other Spanish details should go there.
I've also questioned the inclusion of voice credits on every song when the song credits are clearly linked to the original movies. If "singer" credits must be included, shouldn't we add them to the original movie page?
Also, do you have any experience with citations on Wikipedia? I've not bothered, but the Disney Sing Along Songs page is asking for them... Azasakayi 17:30, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- You should go ahead and move singer/appearance credits to the appropriate movie pages before I just go ahead and delete them altogether. The Sing Along Songs page is getting overburdened with information, and unless we are going to break it down to 35 individual pages, then credits belong to the movies, not the songs. 206.172.173.149 15:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, go ahead! Delete them! Looks like my test was a failure. --Ryanasaurus0077 23:49, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Do not add voice actors for anything but the English and the original versions of animated series, as this is the English Wikipedia. Danny Lilithborne 23:20, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Guess What?
[edit]I have good news for you, I was at my local participating video store, trying to get the May 1986 edition of Alice in Wonderland, but unfortunately, they had the October 1986 print of Alice. So, I settled for a backup idea & got the 1985 edition of Pinocchio & it had that Black Cauldron trailer, like your copy has! So, I finally saw the 1985 edition of Pinocchio, with The Black Cauldron trailer! Skymac207 23:35, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Good for you, Skymac! Hope you have good luck on your future Disney VHS searches! --Ryanasaurus0077 13:12, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
That's not all, on December 22 2006, I saw the 1986 edition of The Sword in the Stone with the trailer of The Journey of Natty Gann. Skymac207 12:00, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Good God! You're getting real good at this! Have you found any 1980 versions of Escape to Witch Mountain on eBay or amazon.com? --Ryanasaurus0077 22:47, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
I think so, but they said "No Image Available". I can tell you this though, Imax80 told me on Youtube that his copy from 1986 had the red/white FBI warning, orange FBI logo, a bumper that said "Now on Walt Disney Home Video", then there's that same trailer of The Journey of Natty Gann from the other VHS, followed by the 1983 Neon Mickey logo & nothing else. He's willing to upload the trailer with the bumper. Also, he said he was 'gonna upload any old bumper, FBI warning & Feature Presentation logos. Should be awesome. By the way, does your copy of Disney Sing Along Songs: vol.9: I Love to Laugh have its tape master a vertical white label or horizontal silk-screnning? Mr.wheeler 22:39, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Horizontal silk-screening. --Ryanasaurus0077 22:42, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
I have a picture on Microsoft Word on my computer of that tape with a vertical white label, which prooves that was the original printing of the tape & I believe it has the red/white FBI warning, orange FBI logo, 1986 HV logo & a trailer of The Rescuers Down Under/The Prince & the Pauper. At the end, the DSAS promo of vol.1-7+9.
- Could you please upload that picture? I really want to see it in the Disney Sing Along Songs page! --Ryanasaurus0077 23:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
It's uploaded. Skymac207 21:40, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Congratulations, Skymac! You have just now made the Wikipedia's most useful contribution EVER submitted by you! --Ryanasaurus0077 14:43, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
That anonymous user that vandalized your page

[edit]No, you can't call me "Treggy." Also, you someone who uses at least two accounts should watch what they say about sockpuppets. (I don't mean to sound threatening; I'm just sayin'.) —tregoweth (talk) 00:12, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- At least my other account, who I like to call my twin brother, doesn't troll regularly (I myself am also an honest editor these days). In fact, I think he's becoming a bit less active these days (although he pops up to make useful edits and bust trolls every now and then). Oh, and by the way, have you changed "treggy" to "tregoweth" yet on my post on Skymac's user page? --Ryanasaurus0077 00:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- And here I am, his aforementioned "twin brother", in person! If you were wondering about that "treggy" junk, my "twin brother", Ryanasaurus0077, already apologized for calling you that and changed "treggy" to "tregoweth". Can he call you "Seňor Tregoweth"? --Ryanasaurus007 00:30, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

1985 Pinocchio preview/sales tape
[edit]I have it, and let me tell you, it is 10 minutes and has so much to offer. It shows all the promos surrounding the video release, all the TV ads, a preview of the film, the Classics logo, interviews with people (a black diamond is on the microphone), and several others. It's my user page. --Imax80 02:02, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Jessica Calvello
[edit]Out of curiousity, what roles has Jessica Calvello done on Pokèmon? She is listed nowhere in the credits for any of Pokémon's productions. --PAK Man 14:42, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Have you checked Lucario and the Mystery of Mew? She's the voice of Agent Summers. --Ryanasaurus0077 09:27, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm looking at the official credits from the DVD right now, and she's nowhere to be found. The only female voices credited are Veronica Taylor, Amy Birnbaum, Rachael Lills, Maddie Blaustein, Suzanne Goldish, Kayzie Rogers, Bella Hudson, Rebecca Soler and Lindsey Warner. Unless one of those is a pseudonym of hers, she's not in the movie. --PAK Man 16:51, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- She's uncredited. Probably to throw the Wikipedia off track when they see the DVD. --Ryanasaurus007 21:44, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Two versions of Mary Poppins
[edit]The first version of the 1980 video release has Mary flying across a huge "Mary Poppins" logo. The other version shows her and the other characters. Is the second version from 1983? Because the video says, "VHS-STEREO" on the bottom. --Imax80 18:36, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- Either that or it was just another 1985 re-issue. --Ryanasaurus0077 21:10, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
About Bambi
[edit]Everybody knows how Bambi was re-issued in theaters 1982, right? Well, if it did come directly to video in 1983, it probally use the 1978 HE logo, then it probally get remastered in 1984 with the 1983 HV logo, then become part of The Classics series in 1985. If it did come in The Classics series 1985, it still have the same tape master, but the film title would be in red & it say "Walt Disney's" on top. On the film, would be the 1984 FBI warnings, previews of The Black Cauldron movie & Pinocchio VHS release, then the 1984 classics logo, followed by the start of the film. Skymac207 20:57, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hello! Could you please stop this? I'll let THIS one slide, but please don't do such a silly thing on my talk page again! --Ryanasaurus0077 12:12, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hello. We appreciate your edits to Cammy, but information on Spanish voice actresses, unless the original series was originally in Spanish, should not be on the English Wikipedia. Consider putting that information in the Spanish article. Thank you. JuJube 01:47, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Where did you get the info about the Mexican voice actors of Sakura Wars?
[edit]Hi, My name is Luis Edgar and I'm the webmaster of a voice actor database, Can you tell me where did you get the info of the Mexican voice actors of Sakura Wars? because as far I know, the only Spanish dub of the series is from the TV series and the first OVA series and both series were dubbed in Colombia, not in Mexico --Luisedgarf 07:17, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Probably the Mexican dubs were rarely-seen co-productions with (ADV/Geneon/FUNimation) and Audiomaster 3000 (not its full name). --Ryanasaurus0077 23:07, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Some info seems too weird: P.E. the voice actor who voice Sakomizu in Spanish is female, not male. Anyways, I'm going to talk with Gabriel Chavez this weekend (he's going to attend an anime convention in my town) to confirm the information. Are you sure that the info about the Mexican voice actors is correct? --Luisedgarf 03:06, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh dear. Then his role in Sakura Wars is contested (for now his role will have to be shared in authenticity with Mario Sauret. (I still think the rest should be correct, only ask Chavez about his "role", and if he shows otherwise, then it's safe for me to say that his role in the Mexican dub was really voiced by Mario Sauret.). Oh, and about Sakomizu, perhaps Cristina Camargo did a low-pitched voice? (Keiko Han did the same as the voice of Rowdy Gabriev in Slayers: The Motion Picture). --Ryanasaurus007 00:16, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry if the topic bothers you or if you feel that I doubt about your information, but I watched the Sakura Wars Ecole de Paris OAVs, and Sakomizu sounds too "manly" in Japanese and I doubt that a female voice actress (in any language) could be able to match that kind of voice (It's like hearing Sylvester Stallone being dubbed by a woman :) ) --Luisedgarf 00:57, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, Keiko did a bloody good job as the voice of Rowdy (I've seen the original Japanese version of Slayers: The Motion Picture). Her vocal performance there sounded so convincing to me I originally thought Rowdy was voiced by the late Kohei Miyauchi! After looking up the ANN, I found out that it was Keiko Han who was the voice of Rowdy. --Ryanasaurus007 13:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, I managed to talk with Gabriel Chavez and Daniel Abundis, both actors told me they can't remember very well if they worked in any Mexican Spanish dub of Sakura Wars (since they voiced a lot of characters in many dubs for many years). The only chance to confirm the info is if Cartoon Network decides to broadcast the Sakura Wars movie in Latin America (since they already broadcasted the TV series and the first OAV series) --Luisedgarf 03:30, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Want to give me any dates? (i.e. when they were born and when they broke into the business) --Ryanasaurus0077 21:26, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
I forgot to ask about specific dates, but I have some info about both actors: Both actors were born in Mexico City (althrough Daniel Abundis actually lives in Aguascalientes working as a theather director and he's semi-retired from voice-acting, but he plans to return to Mexico City next year, since he wants to be a voice actor again, after he failed to create a voice-acting academy in Aguascalientes. His debut as voice actor was in Beverly Hill 90210 as Scott Scallon)
Gabriel Chavez, besides being an actor, is also a sci-fi writer and an astrology teacher, he has written some novels besides a book about his experience in dubbing Mr. Burns in The Simpsons. His debut as voice actor was in the Spanish dub of The Ewoks: The Battle of Endor as Skeletor. --Luisedgarf 21:14, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Interesting that soaps could make their way into Audiomaster 3000. --Ryanasaurus0077 21:18, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
BTW, Audiomaster 3000 has disappeared some years ago (It changed its name to Audiofutura S.A.) and merged to another voice-acting studion named Candiani. --Luisedgarf 00:26, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Huh? How long ago was that? --Ryanasaurus0077 21:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
If I can remember very well, Audiomaster 3000 closed its doors in 2003-2004. BTW, Do you speak Spanish? --Luisedgarf 22:47, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- ¡Sí! Yo sé hablar Español y Ingles. --Ryanasaurus0077 23:25, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Pocahontas
[edit]My copy of "Pocahontas" was printed in January 1996, and uses the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection logo, not the Classics logo. Strange? --Imax80 19:35, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I guess the Classics logo was on Pocahontas UNTIL November 30, 1995... --Ryanasaurus0077 19:58, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
You Won't Believe This!
[edit]You won't believe what I just saw, but I just saw a copy of Aladdin that had after the FBI warnings, a "Coming to Theaters From Walt Disney Pictures" logo in a different font, before The Lion King trailer. Skymac207 12:26, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- I know. I have just that print. (Not the copy, but the print with that screen) --Ryanasaurus0077 17:14, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
My cousins have that copy. But, my copy has the older artwork & doesn't have that logo meaning its from 1994, while later copies in 1995 had newer artwork. Skymac207 7:48, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Skymac's been blocked. And, as you can see, users can't be "executed" by admins, just blocked whenever they show up. —tregoweth (talk) 19:09, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Migration of voice actor info for Urusei Yatsura characters

About some of your tapes...
[edit]Does your "Peter Pan" tape really have a vertical white label? Or does it have horizontal silk-screening? Could you upload a picture of the label for evidence? Gabrielkat 03:35, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's horizontal silk-screening, like most copies. --Ryanasaurus0077 13:31, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Another question... how can your copy of Sleeping Beauty have its customized BV logo, when Disney kept off the BV and RKO logos on videos released between 1984 and 1991?! Gabrielkat 22:08, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Probably a CinemaScope related issue, although on my LatT, the customized BV logo is cut, but the music heard over the logo is heard over a black screen (the same thing happened with AiW 1986 Classics edition and 1994 Clásicos edition). -Ryanasaurus0077 23:14, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Now wait just a minute! You told me you had a vertical white label edition of Peter Pan on my talk page. Skymac207 22:15, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I deny telling you that, you demon from Hell! I was talking about another tape! --Ryanasaurus0077 23:41, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, but as you said you owned that tape, you also said you owned that tape label on Peter Pan (1990 Classics edition), Disney Sing Along Songs: Heigh Ho (1990 edition), and Disney Sing Along Songs: Under the Sea (1990 edition), meanin' that's your version and that there probally are vertical white label editions of Peter Pan. - You've got it all wrong, Mr. Death Row Inmate! --Ryanasaurus0077 21:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh, never mind. That was your twin brother that said that. But still, I bring you [[3]] to show you there is a vertical white label. Not being mean or anything, but I'm just showing you something you never knew before. Skymac207 23:10, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
This article was prodded because nothing is sourced. This is the story with a vast number of voice actor articles, which seriously diminishes Wikipedia as a whole. If you want to see them stick around, it would be a good thing to source the information, else they are pretty much subject to deletion at any time. Cheers! -- Huntster T • @ • C 17:33, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Some of them were from ANN. --Ryanasaurus0077 18:28, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

About the tape exteriors and tape reels
[edit]I really want to know more about the tape exteriors and the tape reels! I wonder if you could help me out in describing some of these exteriors and reels? Gabrielkat 22:23, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- My copy of Peter Pan was a Memorex tape. Some of my Universal, Disney, Columbia, Live, Paramount, Fox, CPM, and Pacific Arts tapes are also Memorex. Some of my Random House tapes were manufactured by RCA as were some of my other tapes from Paramount, Universal, CPM, Fox, and Live (and also a couple from U.S. Renditions and Dark Image!). Most of my Magnetic Video tapes from between 1978 and 1981 are Fuji tapes (as is my copy of Jailhouse Rock, my THX-1138, my My Blue Heaven, my A Rumor of War, my Pete's Dragon (1985), my Best Friends, my The Black Hole (1980), and some of my MCA and Paramount tapes), but a few are Scotch tapes (like some of my IVE, Disney, Thorn/EMI, Paramount, MCA, Warner, MGM/UA, Manga Video, Columbia, and Vestron tapes) or TDK (like some of my USA/IVE, Disney, Paramount, RCA/Columbia, MGM/UA, Streamline, and Orion tapes). --Ryanasaurus0077 22:36, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- That's cool, but I really wanna know more about the tape exteriors (you know, the pattern/texture surrounding the tape) and the tape reels! Gabrielkat 05:37, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- The tape reels are usually white or yellow, but on my E.T., they're green! On Memorex tapes, the exterior's like the exterior on the Under the Sea tape (see photo on Disney Sing Along Songs). --Ryanasaurus0077 11:35, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have NEVER seen the yellow or green tape reels! Could you upload a scan of the actual 1988 E.T. the Extra Terrestrial tape, as well as a scan of one of your tapes that has the yellow tape reels?
- The tape reels are usually white or yellow, but on my E.T., they're green! On Memorex tapes, the exterior's like the exterior on the Under the Sea tape (see photo on Disney Sing Along Songs). --Ryanasaurus0077 11:35, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

- Did you read my messages? I said that (a) I want you to upload a scan of the actual 1988 tape for E.T. the Extra Terrestrial (as well as a scan of one of your tapes that has the yellow tape reels), and (b) I want some descriptions of the tape exteriors, please! Gabrielkat 20:40, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
What are you talking about!?? You might want to check out Wikipedia:Civility before you make more bizarre and totally inaccurate accusations - illegal immigration concerns? I don't even have the slightest idea who these people are, where they live, what they do, etc.!!! Both articles cite the people of being "Latin American" - how does anyone know what nationality they are? And how does marking an article with "references' actually discredit the person? I don't see any "discrediting" of anyone by marking an unreferenced article such. This has nothing whatsoever to do with the person - and everything to do with the article.
If you'd take the opportunity to look at both of those articles, neither of them have any references whatsoever. It's nice that someone is making claims of these things in the articles, but as Wikipedia guidelines suggest, every article has to have references - see Wikipedia:Citing sources. The items cited in both articles are probably true, but they have to be referenced in some manner. Additionally Wikipedia:Verifiability states:
- "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that any reader should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed."
Additionally, look at Wikipedia:Attribution and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Theoretically someone could tag both of those pages to be deleted because of lack of sources. I didn't do that, I prefer to give the creators and other interested parties the opportunity to bring the articles into Wikipedia standards rather than wholesale getting rid of something. So, in fact, I was both following Wiki standards, as well as being "lenient", if you will, and not tagging either of them for deletion. If you have a problem with these policies, bring them up at the appropriate places. I think an apology is forthcoming for your "suspecting" me of discrediting anyone (which was not done). And, as a P.S. as a Scottish National, I'm more concerned about things in my home country, and really don't have any opinion on US/Mexican immigration policies. SkierRMH 19:21, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, for God's sake, I say Latin American not just for anyone! I meant they were Mexicans! And sorry if I was uncivil, I was just flustered by those petty Republicans... bloody Elephant lovers... --Ryanasaurus0077 20:34, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Get over yourself
[edit]Actually, the purpose of the move was part of a general Wikipedia consensus to only list English and Japanese voice actors. The general consensus, according to the anime and manga and video game projects is to only list the English and native (if English is not the native language) voice actors. If we listed every voice actors for *every* language an anime or video game is dubbed in, then Wikipedia becomes a collection of indiscriminate information, which it is not. My motivations are following policy and consensus of Wikipedia, not the imagined prejudice you think I have. If you want to list Mexican voice actors, I suggest you do so on Spanish Wikipedia, where it's more relevant. NeoChaosX (talk, walk) 14:47, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- The names of voice actors who provided the voices of specific characters are clearly not indiscriminate information, "NeoChaosX" (what a ridiculous name, BTW).
Hey, Ryanasaurus0077, guess what I've got?

Thomas characters - Latin-American voices
[edit]You have added details of Latin-American voice actors for many of the 'Thomas' characters. It would be nice if we had suitable references for these, but the main reason for writing here is that you have added the information inconsistently.
I would guess (from the dates) that these actors were involved with the various seasons of the television series, rather than the 'Thomas & the Magic Railroad' movie. Is that correct? The reason I ask is that your edits have been placed in various sections, but most usually in the 'movie' section of the page.
EdJogg 17:59, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Only those who had a role in the 1998 season appeared in the movie (i.e. Yamil Atala, Eduardo Garza, Jorge Arvizu, Gabriel Ramos, etc.).
- Thanks for that, it's very helpful. I'll remember this when adjusting the articles. EdJogg 13:18, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Alondra Hidalgo
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Alondra Hidalgo, by Shoessss (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Alondra Hidalgo seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Alondra Hidalgo, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:48, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Wnet71.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wnet71.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:Heighho.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Heighho.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 07:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Steve Areno
[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Steve Areno, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Accounting4Taste 17:53, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Sampson bites his thumb.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sampson bites his thumb.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Falcorian (talk) 06:53, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Avid Home Entertainment
[edit]A tag has been placed on Avid Home Entertainment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sampson bites his thumb.JPG
Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:33, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Daisaku Chiba
[edit]A tag has been placed on Daisaku Chiba requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Hi! I'm trying to do some clean-up on the page, which I notice you started. No sources are included for any of the roles listed, and while many can be verified, a good number, especially regarding The Terminator and Worf, are widely contradicted (and the information mostly seems to appear only on the Spanish Wikipedia page, which was translated from this version initially, sites that copy that one, and the like). A page from Primedubb.com, the website for a leading Mexican dubbing studio, contradicts the Conan the Destroyer claim (unless it was another dub), and Doblaje en Espanol (not infallible, but usually right) likewise contradicts many of the claims, and Doblaje Disney has screencaps of credits from Pete's Dragon, as well as information on the date of that dub, which disproves the Doc Terminus claim, again unless it's a redub and you can source it. Til then, I'm taking those items out and adding those verified either directly by Primedubb or on the Doblaje en Espanol site, or from DVD credits I have access to. -- Aleal (talk) 03:14, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}

All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 19:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Watv.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Watv.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Automatic seatbelt
[edit]In AfD you said: "the first car with an automatic seat belt was the 1975 Volkswagen Rabbit". Can you provide a citation for that? The article on automatic seat belts (which is mistitled with an s on the end - titles are singular if possible) says: "The 1972 Volkswagen ESVW1 Experimental Safety Vehicle presented passive seat belts [1]. Volvo tried to develop a passive three point seatbelt. In 1973 Volkswagen announced they had a functional passive seat belt[2]." I have no idea what passive seat belts are. You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:39, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Spaceketeers back cover.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Spaceketeers back cover.JPG.
You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:49, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Raedon Home Video
[edit]A tag has been placed on Raedon Home Video requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Unfortunately, last I heard it was infected with viruses that are only activated on Windows computers (I'm using one right now, and to make matters worse, it isn't even mine!). I'm putting the summary back for now, and once I'm able to use a Mac (which is immune to LJ's viruses, as I learned during their most recent DDoS scare) I'll put the source in. Deal? (Of course, if you still don't agree with my logic feel free to remove the summary again until I'm able to put the source up, but if you do agree with me, then fine.) --Ryanasaurus0077 (talk) 19:58, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Concerns regarding your article creation
[edit]Please take the time to read Wikipedia's notability criteria. You continue to create large amounts of articles on individuals who do not meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion. In addition, many of the articles are completely unsourced, which is against our policies on biographies of living persons and verifiability. The net result of this is that a lot of editors need to take the time to review your work, initiate deletion proceedings, and ultimately many of the articles are deleted. This really cannot continue. Have you ever considered seeking a mentor who could assist you with your editing? I would strongly suggest that you be mentored until you get a better understanding of notability and sourcing requirements. If you continue to create unsourced or poorly sourced biography articles, it may be necessary to temporarily restrict your editing in order to give you the opportunity to seek mentorship and/or review these very important Wikipedia policies. You must be frustrated that the majority of your contributions are deleted, and it is frustrating and time consuming for editors and admins to have to do the reviewing and deleting as well, so for the sake of improving both your editing and and creating articles that are kept, heed the advice offered here. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:41, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- A thousand apologies. My memory might be fuzzy, but I think the last time I created an unsourced or suspected-as-unsourced page under this account was around 2 years ago. And yes, I would like a mentor. However, I feel like since my last unsourced or suspected-as-unsourced page I have mellowed quite a bit (though this account hasn't seen much action recently, I'm sorry to say). If you still think I need a mentor to re-walk me through editing, I will gladly put {{subst:dated adoptme}} on my own userpage. Again, thanks for reminding me yet again of how there still may be many unsourced pages you still might have to clear out (at this point, not even I know how many there really are!). --Ryanasaurus0077 (talk) 03:20, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- My sincere apologies, I did make a mistake with the dates based on the new deletion notice on your page. My concern was that you were making the effort to create all of these articles, only to have them deleted as non-notable or unsourced. It seems that you have certainly learned from that experience! Would you be interested in starting some new articles? If so, you could begin them in your own userspace (example User:Ryanasaurus0077/Insert new article name here). When you feel it is ready to be moved to mainspace you could request feedback, or ping a trusted fellow editor to review if you prefer. Just make sure they meet the various notability criteria for inclusion and include sources for verification, and you should be fine! It takes a little longer, but it is certainly more rewarding to not have your work speedily deleted. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:57, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

- For example, VHS tapes manufactured by Maxell would have a grid-like pattern of squares on the tape shell, and some tapes would also have the Maxell logo on the left of the tape guard. Also, VHS tapes manufactured by Memorex would have 9 columns of 8 lines on the top and bottom of the tape shell, as well as a white release button for the tape guard. Although, some tapes would only have 7 columns of 8 lines on the bottom.
But I still can't really tell if a VHS or Betamax tape was manufactured by those other companies mentioned... how can you tell by the tape shell design and other factors if a tape was manufactured by those other companies I mentioned? Gabrielkat (talk) 18:03, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- Those are just the basics. The basics for the others:
- Fuji tapes, particularly from the '70s and '80s, will have a rounded rectangle of smoothness around the reel windows and face label area.
- TDK tapes are similar, but the edges are a wider rectangle.
- JVC tapes tend to have a rough outer shell surface.
- The shells on 3M/Scotch tapes are notoriously varied; particularly, on older tapes, you receive fair warning in the form of the word "Scotch". Early tapes had shells resembling the old Fuji design (as mentioned earlier), but many others used a modified version, either with the smooth rectangle more vertically thin and/or vertical lines in the rectangle or wider rectangles on the surface (though not as wide as on TDK's tapes).
- RCA and National/Panasonic were two distributors of Fuji tapes (Fuji distributed their own tapes as well); as such, their tapes resembled Fuji's.
- Sony's design was typically similar to Fuji's design, except the pattern used not small squares like on Fuji's tapes, but small circles approximately the size of those squares.
I won't talk about BASF because frankly, I don't know much about their tapes. In any case, my earlier information on tape manufacturers might've been flawed, so I need to double check myself. (BTW the squares on the Maxell tape shell design are actually diagonally arranged). --Ryanasaurus0077 (talk) 21:49, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Sonny Byrkett
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sonny Byrkett requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Dismas|(talk) 10:29, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
The article Susan Byrkett has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Notability issue since 2011. One line.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Caleb Crabb 05:53, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Spaceketeers back cover.JPG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Spaceketeers back cover.JPG.
You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:07, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

- Article may not be eligible for Template:Prod blp, but it is not supported by any sources despite being tagged as such since 2009. Article is basically one unsourced sentence followed by a long filmography with no sources provided to show that this individual satisfies WP:BIO let alone WP:NACTOR.

Shingle
[edit]Hi there, just happened to see this. There is an informal use of shingle to mean a sign (or in this case a banner) one uses to announce a business or practice. Not sure if you know the TV show M*A*S*H, but surgeon Colonel Potter once talked about what he'd do when he returned from the war, and he said something about going home and hanging a shingle on his door, implying that he'd be happy to have a small, informal medical practice at home. The imagery might be that you'd paint your name on a scrap of wood and hang it. You're correct that it's too obscure/slangy a term for the article, though. Hope that helps! 1999-2000 Canadian schedule
[edit]Hi Ryan,
I’m looking ahead to get Canadian newspapers from the fall of 1999, stating that Global still had the 1998-99 carryovers on Thursdays: Friends, Jesse and Frasier. I think CTV aired Roswell and I presume Global aired Harsh Realm. What Canadian network is airing Popular, Stark Raving Mad and Action. And the 1999-2000 Canadian TV schedule will be created. --2600:1:C40A:9800:FD3D:89A8:68C7:D764 (talk) 15:14, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

False claims about United Artists Releasing and United Artists Digital Studios, can you please do something about them?
[edit]You need to do something about Spshu, the United Artists page and his/her false claims that the real UA today was UA Digital Studios and not UA Releasing. United Artists Releasing is the official resurrection of UA as opposed to the quieter previous revival of the name as a digital studio, which was unofficial. Can you please look at my messages to him/her and believe them? 88.84.156.102 (talk) 05:57, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ryan, please see WP:LTA/NS. You're dealing with someone who hasn't had anything better to do for many years now. Drmies (talk) 02:49, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

United Artists
[edit]There's a bunch of misinformation saying that United Artists currently exists as a digital production studio. It's not true, because United Artists currently exists as two companies: United Artists Corporation, a legal entity under MGM that owns the UA trademarks and some copyrights for the James Bond and Rocky franchises; and United Artists Releasing, which is basically a resurrection of UA in general because it's a US theatrical distribution joint venture of MGM and Annapurna Pictures that was expanded in 2019 and it's not only using the UA name, but also continuing and building on the original UA's legacy and heritage as a distribution company for independents. United Artists Digital Studios is just a separate, short-lived production unit under MGM that only used the UA name unofficially and isn't related to UA in general, plus the original Annapurna/MGM joint venture isn't called Mirror when it was formed in 2017 (and it was in October, not December). The news articles didn't say that. It just wasn't named until its expansion in 2019 and it was a test that saw MGM invest in Annapurna's one-time theatrical distribution arm in exchange for having its team release certain MGM movies in the US under the MGM banner. "Mirror" was just a separate banner under the venture for third-party movies only. Can you please apply these changes here? 213.231.55.186 (talk) 18:03, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Urusei Yatsura
[edit]When you created the Alejandro Illescas Wikipedia article in 2007, you listed this as one of his roles:
- Ataru's father in the Urusei Yatsura TV series (1992-1997) and movies (1992-1997)
There is currently no evidence anywhere of a Latin American Spanish/Mexican Urusei Yatsura dub existing. Do you know where you might have taken that information from? Hegsareta (talk) 09:26, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
The article Irwin Daayán has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Factual errors
[edit]Although his CLG Wiki username is IlCattivo25, I understand that we have to ask if I need an upgrade on the Buena Vista Television page. Judging by a Broadcasting Magazine issue, it was originally named Walt Disney Domestic Television, the 1st logo debuted, in fact on Today's Business in the August of 1986, not 1985. Others followed this show afterwards with Siskel & Ebert and Disney Magic I. Same goes for the Buena Vista International Television page. The 1st logo debuted in 1987, and the 2nd logo debuted in 1990. That is the fact. --2600:1700:4300:2C8F:A858:CA6E:50F0:17D7 (talk) 02:56, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- Another factual error is on CLG Wiki, for the Metromedia Producers Corporation page. The 4th logo actually debuted in 1984, not 1982 as far as Ryan concerned. --2600:1700:4300:2C8F:B960:17A2:8B37:7A5C (talk) 03:31, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- Yet another factual error is shown on the Republic Pictures page on CLG Wiki Miraheze. The 2nd logo ended in 1988 and the 3rd logo started in 1988, not 1990! By far as I'm concerned, the Republic Pictures Home Video page shows off things that are inaccurate. The 2nd logo is mostly not used, but it is most likely only used in Brothers in Arms, as most tapes by that time simply used the standard Republic Pictures logo as a de facto home video logo. The 3rd logo started in 1989. --2600:1700:4300:2C8F:2101:3228:3645:94FB (talk) 21:27, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- Very good. Now go to the “Home Video Distributors” page. Let’s talk about Time-Life Video, It was a video distribution company that was operated, and from 1978 to 1982, distributor of mainstream films on videocassette. Also had an agreement with Columbia Pictures to release 20 films on videocassette in 1979, including The Deep, but the relationship didn't last long, and then formed Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment. Several Time-Life assets went to Vestron Video in 1981. --2600:1700:4300:2C8F:1951:404D:C65:17D7 (talk) 15:38, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- I have to talk. Any info on Time-Life and VidAmerica should be added to the Home Video Distributors page on TVTropes. Time-Life is the distributor of the first 20 Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment cassettes, like The Deep, before going to its distribution arm. VidAmerica distributed a plenty of United Artists titles before Magnetic Video took over. --172.127.114.25 (talk) 13:39, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Message to Ryan
[edit]Hey guys, it turns out there are some factual errors on the Dick Clark Productions page on CLG Wiki.
A majority of the shows, like American Bandstand, continued to use the 1964 logo, so that the 1977 logo would be only used on telemovies. There's also a version of the 2nd logo on the page here.
There's also, a Dick Clark Teleshows logo that was to be added to the page, which is from 1973-1980. It can be found here. It was primarily known to appear on TV specials.
The 3rd logo's theme from 1980-1983 is the same as the 1973 Dick Clark Teleshows logo. There's another 1970s Dick Clark logo that appeared at the same time.
Turns out that the Dick Clark Video theme originated as the first theme for the Dick Clark Productions logo, but it was apparently from the logo's first year. Proof here.

[edit]I'll look up into any 1984-88 issue of Variety and Daily Variety. It seems that Silver Pictures appeared to be on the Fox lot until 1987, when it was moved to Warner Bros.. --172.127.114.25 (talk) 15:22, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
