This article meets (or will meet) Wikipedia's standards for notability (music) based on the following criteria:
Criteria for musicians: 1.) Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart. 2.) Has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. 3.) Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of whom are notable). 4.) Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles. 5.) Members of two notable bands are generally notable enough for their own article.GullyWalker (talk) 15:57, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it should have been deleted. Sentence fragments are not articles. They are, in fact, perfect examples of criterion #1 of the speedy delete. Further, I would still say that the article qualifies for VfD. This is not the John and Mary article, nor the 10,000 Maniacs article. Is this person notable? Does the article give any information? Dates of birth and death? Records released (as herself, and not as a group already discussed)? Notable deeds in the news? Historical impact? Books published? Is any of that information present? No. So what we have here is an "article" that exists because the proper noun was linked in two other articles. It does not provide information not already present in those other articles, and anyone searching for her from the search field will, in fact, learn that they shouldn't be reading this article at all, but rather one of the others.
