City?
[edit]Why is this place being described as a city with only 208 people? If it has received a city charter with this few people, I think that should be noted as that would be unusual. 23skidoo 03:11, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- No, it's not at all unusual. Alaska (like many states) doesn't distinguish between "cities", "towns", "villages", "townships", or anything else. All incorporated settlements are "cities". —Zero Gravitas 05:27, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Expansion: there's no lower limit on incorporation. Kupreanof is, as far as I know, the smallest incorporated city in the state, with a population of 23. And there are similarly small places elsewhere—Ismay, Montana for instance. 208 isn't even interestingly small compared to that. —Zero Gravitas 05:40, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- And since you mentioned it in your original comment, which is being steadily buried under my replies, I've added a note to that effect on the Kupreanof article, with my source. Thanks for getting me thinking about the subject... even if months after you forgot even making the comment! —Zero Gravitas 05:48, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm dying to know the origin of the name.--68.9.134.146 00:50, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
