Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
Please stop removing the Cleanup header until the article is cleaned up. And please stop adding the article in progress header -- all Wikipedia articles are continually in progress. Please review the Manual of Style and other Wikipedia articles to see what a Wikipedia article should look like. This article is horrendously ugly. RickK 06:34, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
photographs
[edit]The photographs you have put on the various pages you have been working on need to have some sort of copywrite status attached to them. Where did you get the pictures from? [[User:Lachatdelarue|Lachatdelarue (talk)]] 13:36, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, please put one of the copyright tags on the image pages... either {{GFDL}} if the photo was released under that liscence, or {{PD}}, if the photo was released to the public domain. [[User:Lachatdelarue|Lachatdelarue (talk)]] 12:32, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Czech language accents
[edit]Hi Adamkraft, you are adding a lot of Czech-related text (which is good :)). If you understand the Czech language (which I suppose), please try to write the Czech words using correct accents where possible. Wikipedia DOES allow this and there is no reason for removing the accents just because we are writing in English. For a hint, have a look at my converion table for the characters. Also, I cleaned up the Vladislav Vančura article, you might want to check it, too. Thanks. Matt 11:20, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Pohreb.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Pohreb.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Pak21 14:39, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Untagged image
[edit]An image you uploaded, Image:Vanc.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 01:46, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:02humburky.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:02humburky.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:35, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:02humburky.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:02humburky.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 06:11, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
