[edit]Great effort Billion! All we really need now is a good picture to go with the description. AndyBrandt 10:15, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks Andy, and I agree it needs a picture. Any one got one, or planning to go there? Billlion 17:35, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Ownership
[edit]I expect this article will magnetize strong feelings, that's not surprising with such a heart felt issue. I just removed the 2004 claim of ownership because I googled and found this rebuttal from the opposing view: [1]. May the broken hearts of all sides on this fraction of the karma kagyu lineage be mended. - Owlmonkey (talk) 18:03, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Rumtek Monastery
[edit]Rumtek Monastery (Tibetan: རུམ་ཐེག་དགོན་པ་, Wylie: rum theg dgon pa), also called the Dharma Chakra Centre, is a gompa located in the Indian state of Sikkim near the capital Gangtok. It is the seat-in-exile of the Gyalwang Karmapa, inaugurated in 1966 by the 16th Karmapa. It is also a focal point for the sectarian tensions within the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism that characterize the 17th Karmapa controversy. 103.216.177.160 (talk) 11:35, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Entrance guarded by armed Indian soldiers.
[edit]I'm wondering if the entrance is still guarded by soldiers. Source of that statement, last line of the wikipedia page was a book from 2004. I was able to find an article from 2010 that states the same... are there still guards at the gate in 2023? Badabara (talk) 18:05, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- It's hard to prove a negative, unfortunately. Primefac (talk) 13:09, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
