Under the subheading, "1987-2002: Hollywood Action star" there is a paragraph in which my name is mentioned as being a source of information: "In 1996, he had a role in the Kurt Russell film Executive Decision, portraying a special ops soldier who appears in only the film's first 45 minutes. Former Warner Bros Vice President Bill Daly later stated Seagal agreed to the role in exchange for the studio forgiving him losing his director's salary due to going over-budget with On Deadly Ground.[35]"
I do not wish to be mentioned in this article. The source, Ethan Dettenmaier's Brigade Radio One program, should not be considered a credible source. It's an entertainment program. Please remove the sentence that contains my name. Ldalaigh (talk) 15:53, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"I am mentioned in an article about something else, and I would like the reference to me removed. How can I do that?
You probably cannot. If you think the reference doesn't belong in an encyclopedia (because it's incorrect, or not worth mentioning), you can make that comment on the talk page. Editors won't remove the reference just because you don't like it."
In this case, you would need to develop a consensus on this page that the interview is not a reliable source. However, simply not wishing to be quoted on Wikipedia is not enough to justify removal of the quote. Further, DIRECTLY editing Wikipedia to remove the quote, as you did at Executive Decision, is a violation of the Wikipedia Conflict of Interest Policy.
