When I talked to one of the executives/employees of the Campbell Estate, the original developers of Kapolei, they told me that they had Kapolei means the "lei of Kapo." Of course, I'm not an authority on the Hawaiian language. I haven't edited the article but will search for documentation. Can anyone shed light on the name Kapolei? Aoi 11:29, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- What you are saying is really about the same thing as the article says, but you are just breaking it up into two Hawaiian words (lei and Kapo). Kapo is a person—hard to go further with that—but lei is literally a wreath or garland worn around the neck or figuratively a beloved person or child. "Lei of Kapo" comes up a bit short on beauty and intent, I think - Marshman 18:12, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
A map would be nice
[edit]Just a suggestion. A map could serve both to indicate where exactly on O'ahu Kapolei is located, and also the main features of the "Second City". --A R King (talk) 12:23, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
