[edit]is this for real?? --It's a genuine bootleg, for whatever that's worth. I've listened to it and it is in fact rather underwhelming except as a historical document. Hardly a Beatles reunion or anything, even if it is often billed as such.
No citations, from books, or the Internet. --andreasegde 17:08, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Funny, I found 2160 Internet references to this boot. True, it isn't all it's cracked up to be (I owned a copy, which vanished when a former housemate wanted get-in-trouble money), or even terribly interesting... but I'd hardly say there are "no citations" of it out there. - In regards to needing a citation, I remember this interview with Paul back in 1997; it was a town hall-type interview. It was on VH1 and was hosted by John Fugelsang (or whatever his name is), and somebody asked Paul about this, and Paul confirmed that it did indeed happen, and the tape went missing, and jokingly said, "I'd like to have it please." Fugelsang replied (as best as I can remember), "I'm sure you'll have a bunch of tapes in the mail in the next few days!" --Cooleyez229 07:04, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Listen to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReJ-0H8-uUg Mistakenly labelled as by the Beatles. The beginning and the end of the session are cut off.
Hi - it was my understanding (based on The Record Plant web site) that the last place Lennon and McCartney recorded together was at the old Record Plant location in Los Angeles on 3rd Street near LaCienega. The Record Plant website is wrong. This happened at Burbank Studios. Hotcop2 04:26, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Date/Place
[edit]The jam took place at Burbank Studios -- not John and May's beach house. It was on the first night of the Nilsson Pussy Cats sessions -- which was March 28, 1974. Hotcop2 03:16, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Quote
[edit]The Sandford quote is wrong - at least if it is from "McCartney." Most web searches seem to be copies FROM here, not decent sources. See http://books.google.com/books?id=px1rd1sTml0C&pg=PA228&dq=Jasper+valiant+mccartney+lennon&ei=JsOSSqrgGYPGlQTJoNGSBw&client=safari#v=onepage&q=Jasper%20valiant%20mccartney%20lennon&f=false . The "facts" are approximately correct (although it seems there was little movement when he arrived). Anyone have a real source for it? (John User:Jwy talk) 16:55, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Availability
[edit]What is the availability of this? I know it's a "bootleg", so has anyone got it online yet? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.211.71.137 (talk) 04:38, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
At Record Plant on 3rd Street ?
[edit]Hi
I might be in the minority here, but this might have actually been recorded at the Record Plant on 3rd Street, in Studio B. At that time Stevie Wonder had a long time deal to use Studio A there, and since he is on the recordings that seems likely to me.

- Do you have any sources that support your theory? DonIago (talk) 05:35, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- No, it was Burbank Studios. Hotcop2 (talk) 14:40, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- Evidence in the article: Ringo was working with Nilsson and Paul was using his drums... --John (User:Jwy/talk) 18:12, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- The session is described in the 1983 book "Loving John" and also in the 1990 book "The Art And Music Of John Lennon". Paul and Linda arrived unexpectedly at the old Record Plant on Third Street. Harry Nilsson and Stevie Wonder were both working on albums there. Ringo appears on the Nilsson album "Pussy Cats" - would they have really taken Ringo's drum kit out to Burbank? 2603:8000:7600:8764:C8FB:2629:D2FE:5B09 (talk) 12:12, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- May Pang, who was there and actually booked the studio, first wrote about it in 1983's Loving John, but didn't say which studio. She clears it up in her photobook, 2007's Instamatic Karma, as Burbank Studios. The original Pussycats album credits BURBANK STUDIOS (in all caps) and Record Plant (for later remixes by Dennis Ferrante). Initial recordings were at Burbank, and this took place literally after the initial recording of the initial recordings. Whatever else Stevie Wonder was doing, he was at Burbank Studios on March 28th 1974.Hotcop2 (talk) 12:51, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- Mae Pang did say it was the Record Plant. Paul and Linda were surprise visitors there - a bunch of people did not go out to Burbank. Stevie Wonder had been using Studio B at the Record Plant for months and Ringo's drum kit was there. 2603:8000:7600:8764:9CC2:4F03:7BDC:E73 (talk) 09:05, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
