Dubious content discussion
[edit]The list of people from Drogheda needs to be edited. At least one of the people listed in it isn't from Drogheda. Pierce Brosnan is from Navan. The hospital he was born in just happens to be in Drogheda. That's not the same as being from Drogheda unless you take it in an extremely petty literal sense. I disagree, the place where a person is born is used throughout wikipedia, and indeed would be on Mr Brosnan's passport, where he lived afterwards is also important, but a person's place of birth is a part of one's identity. Tommyxx (talk) 10:34, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
Origins
[edit]The remarkable density of archaeological sites… have shown that the hinterland of Drogheda has been a settled landscape for millennia.
But then
…in his 1978 study of the history and archaeology of the town John Bradley stated that "neither the documentary nor the archaeological evidence indicates that there was any settlement at the town prior to the coming of the Normans". The results of the numerous and often large-scale excavations… in the past ten years appear to have confirmed this statement.
Does this mean that the hinterland was settled but not the town? Valetude (talk) 11:07, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
Notable people
[edit]This list is becoming quite extensive, it needs to be split off into its own wikipage article. Regards--Devokewater (talk) 11:29, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
Literature
[edit]I've removed the Literature section, it was not sourced, it failed reliable, verifiable, independent + contained POV's. Regards --Devokewater (talk) 11:32, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
